Wireless
A puzzle game about
a radio operator

What ?
This is a school jam group project, with the theme TROUBLE. We had to create a game that has a strong experience for the player, with clean sound design and we also had to write a partial lockit for the game. The goal is to escape a bunker where odd things happen while you only have 5 minutes left.
How ?
I worked on the game mechanics and how it affected the UX. We as game designers also had to ensure that the project was feasible by the team, mostly regarding the programming part. We decided to do a little escape game with little to no programming demand, so we were certain that the game would release. We thought of the puzzles as text and audio based, no complex system or technical needs. It really made our brain boil at certain parts of the development because we needed to find creative solutions for every step the player would encounter.
Softwares used :
Unreal : Play-test and adjustments
Miro : GDD, all texts and puzzle chart
Reaper : Sound design
Word : Layout of the various documents
Who ?
It was a group project and we were 6 : one programmer, one tech artist, two game artists, and two game designers.
Why ?
Following the theme TROUBLE, we decided to first implement a complex radio waves system, where the player would synchronize the waves to progress. When the programmer told us that it was too complex to make in 3 days, we shifted to a more design and puzzle vision, focusing on the puzzles we were creating with the radio sounds rather than creating new things.
